South Street Seaport
South Street Seaport is a celebrated part of Manhattan in New York City and is a must visit included in all New York travel deals. It is situated at the confluence of Fulton Street and East River and adjacent to the Financial District. Some of the oldest structural designs can be seen in the centre of Manhattan, comprising of reinstated early 19th-century commercial buildings, new commercial buildings, the earlier Fulton Fish Market and malls. The breathtaking Brooklyn Bridge can be seen from here as well.
The buildings in South Street Seaport are meant to throw back visitors in time to the mid 1800's, to exhibit to the people what life was like in the commercial maritime trade.
The Seaport now combines up as both a tourist centre as well as a mall. Visitors to the Seaport will not be disappointed as they are spoilt for choice. They can go to the various shops or the food court, or they have the option of viewing either the East River or the Brooklyn Bridge.
