The Rockefeller Center is the home of New York City's most famous Christmas tree and is a favourite holiday destination for the locals as well as the outsiders. The first formal Rockefeller Center tree-lighting ceremony took place in 1933 and today it is one of the biggest and most famous places in the United States.

The Christmas tree which adorns the Rockefeller Center is 65 feet tall and 35 feet wide and over the five miles of lights is used for its decoration. Many visitors flock from different parts of the country and places to attend the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The annual event is also broadcasted on television, radio and the various popular artists perform.
