New York Public Library
New York Public Library like most other places in the city is significant in more ways than one. The library is one of the best public libraries in the world and is also the best in the United States when we talk about research material.
The library runs mainly in 2 sections one as the circulating one and another non-circulating one. The research books fall in the second category and are not lent. The New York Public Library functions under a private management. It is a non-profit corporation that is financed using both public and private funds. This library also has smaller branches in Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island.

New York travel packages offer visits to the public library which is of prime importance to the city and the country as a whole. Many have contributed to make this library what it is today. One of the earliest contributors has been Samuel J. Tilden who has been both a governor of New York and a presidential candidate at a later stage. He left a large portion of his fortune to the tune of $2.4 million to the library.
