
List of Animals in Bronx Zoo
As the world's largest urban zoo, Bronx Zoo is for certain an impressive place to visit. Located at Fordham Road and the Bronx River Parkway, the zoo covers 265 acres of park lands and naturalistic habitats, through which the Bronx River flows. There are so many exhibits and attractions to explore. Because of this, it is impossible to see everything in a single visit.
Bronx Zoo also gives visitors an opportunity to come close to wild animals. The zoo houses more than 4000 animals of over 600 species throughout the world, most of which are housed in their natural habitats. You will learn about their natural history, biology, cultural roles and conservation status while meeting these animals.
Mammals - More than half the Bronx Zoo is occupied by a wide variety of mammals kept in their natural habitats. These mammals include:

- Coquerel's Sifaka (Habitat: dry forest; Where to See Them: Madagascar)
- Two-Toed Sloth (Habitat: tropical forests)
- Snow Leopard (Habitat: mountainous, arid or semi-arid grasslands; Where to See Them: Himalayan Highlands)
- Tiger (Habitat: diverse, including tropical rainforests, mangrove swamps, grasslands, rocky country and evergreen forests; Where to See Them: Tiger Mountain, Wild Asia Monorail)
Birds - Various birds also make the zoo a great place for bird lovers. At the zoo, you can find bald eagle, Indian peafowl, monk parakeet, white-throated bee-eater, Caribbean flamingo, Magellanic penguin and white-faced scops owl. These birds are fed in Wild Asia Monorail, Children's Zoo or World of Birds.
Reptiles & Amphibians - Just like other large zoos, there is no death of reptiles and amphibians. Most of these reptiles and amphibians including anaconda, Nile crocodile, poison frogs and Madagascan Tree Boa can be found either at Madagascar or World of Reptiles. There is also American Alligator at Children's Zoo.
Insects & Fish - Bring your kids to the beautiful butterfly garden at the zoo, filled with Monarch butterflies. This may delight your little ones. Also, you can take them to Madagascar to have a look at lovely marakely.

The Bronx Zoo also offers many fun events at world-class exhibitions throughout the zoo including Congo Gorilla Forest the Wild Asia Monorail and Tiger Mountain. Make sure to check the schedule of feedings and enrichment demonstrations during exhibits throughout the park, before starting out.
