
Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts: Guide to the World's Leading Performing Arts Center
Lincoln Center located on 16.3 acres comprises a complex of buildings in central Manhattan in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of New York City. It is the major hub of the cultural activities of Manhattan.
This center is the chief contributor to the intellectual and cultural life of the New York City. The Lincoln Center has 12 resident organizations and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) is one among them.
It serves as the home for the Metropolitan Opera, Avery Fisher Hall, the New York State Theatre, the Juilliard School, the Vivian Beaumont Theatre, and the Library - Museum of the Performing Arts, the Guggenheim Band shell in Damrosch Park, and eight other Fordham Univ. buildings. LCPA is consigned with three significant functions. They are:
- LCPA is the most leading performing arts center in the world- They present performances in music, dance, theatre, opera, and multimedia every year.
- LCPA is an international leader in community relations and arts and education- They portray symposia related to arts, community initiatives and family programming.
- LCPA is functioning as the manager of the Lincoln Center Campus- They support and render services to the whole campus and the centers Resident Organizations.
It is a non profit organization that runs with municipal support. It is an internationally recognized center dedicated to encourage new artists and internationally acclaimed performers for the presentation of their artistic excellence.
