New York National Academy Museum & School of Fine Arts: Catering to Students' Needs
New York National Academy Museum and School of Fine Arts is one the tripartite institution in the city of New York. Founded in the year 1825 as a National School of Design by Samuel FB Morse, Asher B Durand and Thomas Cole, who are some of the leading artists. They have been involved in establishing the honorary association of American artists that has both a museum and a school.
National Academicians catering to the building of the upcoming artists are professional artists training them in one of the four categories like painting, sculpture, graphic arts and architecture. The academy also houses a large number of collections depicting the American art in the country with works beginning from the 19th century. The portraits will include those from the Federal period, naturalistic landscapes of the Hudson River, studies on Tonalism and American impressionism.
Modern and contemporary movements are also represented, for example, Fauvism, the Ashcan school, American Surrealism, Abstract Expressionism, Minimalism, Pop Art, Photorealism, pattern and decoration, Neo-expressionism and new Image painting.
Some of the various classes that are offered for students to choose from are drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media and much more, with the privilege to choose artists of their own choice. The Academy offers a variety of workshops, lecturers and critiques. The classes will include an array of figure, still life, landscape and abstract drawing and painting classes with specialization in watercolor and pastel. The programs are offered as workshops, lecturers, diploma program and independent study with financial assistance.
