The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is considered to be a pioneer institution in the field of performing arts. Located in New York City, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is dedicated to thousands of performances, musicals, concerts and events each year.
The Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts or the LCPA showcases thousands of performers across the world. Last year, the LCPA hosted performances conducted by almost 5,000 performers from across the globe. Performances included drumming from Korea, African Dance, Opera featuring puppets, original kabuki theaters and dance performances by famous choreographers.
Mr. Avery Fisher was a lover of classical music and a noted benefactor of the LCPA. He started a program in collaboration with the LCPA which is known as the Avery Fisher Program. According to this program, the Avery Fisher Prize is given to individuals who display extraordinary skills in musical instruments. A grant known as the Avery Fisher Career Grant is given to those individuals who want to pursue a career in music. This program is recognized as one of the most prestigious music programs in the world.
Upcoming events at the LCPA features the likes of Dresden Staatskapelle, the musical orchestra featuring Daniel Harding as the conductor and Christiane Karg as the soprano; piano performance by Garrick Ohlsson and dance choreography by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui of Belgian- Moroccon origin. This choreography will showcase a unique blend of martial arts by Shoaling monks, western Hip-Hop and African dance. The months of October and November will showcase the white light festival where the tourists are sure to experience a wide range of mind blowing performances at the LCPA.
