Where to get access to the Brooklyn Bridge? If you come from Manhattan, you can enter the Brooklyn Bridge from the entrance, located at Park Row and Centre Street, across from City Hall Park, east of City Hall. To get there, take No. 4, 5, 6 subway trains to Brooklyn Bridge / City Hall or J / M / Z strains to Chambers Street.
If you get access to the bridge from Brooklyn, the walkway entrance is located next to the Federal Court building. What to do when walking on Brooklyn Street? Prepare for 1 - 2 hours for touring the bridge. Before starting your walk across the bridge, keep an eye on vendors conveniently serving drinks along the way, if you don't want to bring water.
While standing on the bridge, do take some pictures of the amazing New York City skyline. So don't forget to bring your camera before starting out. You will be able to see many famous buildings from the bridge, including Woolworth Building, Empire State Building, South Street Seaport, Governors Island and Ellis Island. Also, don't miss the Statue of Liberty, which will appear in your line of sight on your right. For safety concern, make sure to stay on the pedestrian side.
When you make your way across the bridge, you will have the opportunity to stop at the informative plaques that give detailed info on Brooklyn Street history as well as sights visible from the bridge. There are also plaques on the bridge of Brooklyn side, offering the history of the borough.
