Situated at the Bronx Park in New York City, the Bronx Zoo is one of the urban wildlife parks of the Wildlife Conservation Society's collection. With about 265 acres of naturalistic habitats and plenty of attractions, the zoo is widely considered as the largest metropolitan zoo in the United States. The zoo also features a couple of previous names - the Bronx Zoological Park and the Bronx Zoological Gardens.The story of the Bronx Zoo began from 1899 when it only had 843 animals in 22 different exhibits. Today, the Bronx Zoo houses over 4,000 animals of 650 species. Most of them are endangered and threatened animals.

The zoo consists of a number of exhibits, some of which are arranged by taxonomy while others are arranged geographically. During fall and winter, from November 1, 2010 to April 1, 2011:

Any visitor will be welcomed to the Bronx Zoo from 10 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. every day.

During these two seasons, you can visit plenty of cold-weather creatures at the Bronx Zoo, like snow leopards, polar bear and tigers and many other lovely animals. Besides, you are able to enjoy a wonderful Dora and Diego's 4-D Adventure or an exciting escape to the Madagascar or the giant indoor rainforest - the Jungleworld.

In both fall and winter, all animal exhibits, rides and attractions inside the zoo would be available until 30 minutes before zoo closing. But after 4pm, you will be still allowed to enjoy the Zoo Shuttle and Bug Carousel which would operate until zoo closing.
