Rockaway Beach is a neighborhood of Rockaway Peninsula in the New York. It is located near South Shore of Long Island. This beach is operated and maintained by New York Development of Parks and Recreation. It is also known as Irish Riviera because of large Irish American population in the area where it is situated.

Also there is aquatic vegetation which includes bulrushes, horsetail, fat hen, rushes, plantain etc. in Rockaway Beach the quarry area hosts a number of surprising varieties of birds as well as reptiles, amphibians and small mammals.
Avifauna which is sighted here includes red-winged blackbirds, herons etc. The headland cliffs which is with in the quarry provides the nesting sites for pelagic cormorants, Brandt's cormorants and bank swallows and these are last two founds of Rockaway Beach
