Rockaway Beach is a neighborhood of Rockaway Peninsula in the New York. It is located near South Shore of Long Island. This beach is operated and maintained by New York Development of Parks and Recreation. It is also known as Irish Riviera because of large Irish American population in the area where it is situated.

The Marine Parkway Bridge was built further which is neighborhood of Rockaway Beach. One of the best features of this beach is the steep bluff faces and the tolerant of wind as well as sea salt mist such as Silver Beachwood, Sea rocket, and extensive patches of Yarrow.

Habitat on the headland east-facing slope on the east of this beach consists of Northern coastal scrub as considerable prostrate and colonies of Bush lupine. A gamut of has been indebted in the headland slopes of Rockaway Beach. North area of the Rockaway Beach is a hidden quarry is also called as developed area which is severally disturbed.

Marine erosion is one of the problems but Rip-rap boulders protect the developed area from them. Also there is aquatic vegetation which includes bulrushes, horsetail, fat hen, rushes, plantain etc. in Rockaway Beach the quarry area hosts a number of surprising varieties of birds as well as reptiles, amphibians and small mammals.

Avifauna which is sighted here includes red-winged blackbirds, herons etc. The headland cliffs which is with in the quarry provides the nesting sites for pelagic cormorants, Brandt's cormorants and bank swallows and these are last two founds of Rockaway Beach
